SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under the direction of the Principal, the Dean of Students serves as an instructional leader in the planning, coordination, and administration of school activities and programs, including curriculum, instruction, student assessment, student conduct and attendance, school operations, and of assigned personnel.
Salary:
$70,000
  • 77,500 190/days
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed teacher Administrative license or enrolled in administration licensure coursework is required Minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention programs that address the needs of at-risk students Participates in the Academic MTSS Team to oversee the data collection to identify students for placement and ensure appropriate levels of support are provided Assists in providing a safe and secure learning environment utilizing the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support process. Assists in creating a school culture that promotes the ongoing improvement of learning and teaching for students and staff by way of the Professional Learning Communities process. Performs a variety of administrative duties to assist the Principal in managing the school Participates in the development of the school's improvement plan Collaborates with the Principal for the evaluation of classified staff Provides coaching to a variety of faculty, staff, and student programs and services Participates in formal and informal classroom visitations and observations Provides recommendations and suggestions for improvement as appropriate Participates in the development of transition plans for students In coordination with the principal, manages student 504 compliance and administration Participates as needed in Individual Educational Plan meetings Leads and participates in building and district committees and teams Serves as School Testing Coordinator (STC) Works with the Principal to establish a safe and secure learning environment for students Participates in administrative meetings and training to improve administrative skills; maintains current knowledge of the district's adopted curriculum Circulates and is highly visible in the school's common spaces during school hours, overseeing students Oversees student attendance documentation and manages chronic absenteeism Communicate with students' families as necessary to keep families abreast of any observed changes in an individual student's conduct Performs other duties as assigned

Practical knowledge and use of multimedia authoring programs, learning management systems, and emerging technologies. Practical knowledge of differentiated instruction, reading strategies, instructional design theories, and learning style theories. Perform time management and scheduling functions, meet deadlines, and set project priorities. Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisors and district administrators.

Equipment:
This position is required to maintain a working knowledge of all office equipment. A basic knowledge of operations for computers, printers, telephone systems, fax machines, and copiers is required.
