Position Summary:

The High School Drumline Assistant is responsible for leading, teaching, and developing the high school band's percussion section during the winter months. This role involves instructing students in fundamental and advanced percussion techniques, coordinating ensemble performance, and preparing the drumline for the upcoming season in close collaboration with the Band Director.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Background in marching percussion, including drumline performance and instruction.

Skills:

Strong foundation in percussion techniques, music theory, and ensemble coordination.

Communication:

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Availability:

Must be available for all scheduled rehearsals and performances.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift/transport percussion equipment as needed.
