Director of Financial Assistance
GENERAL SUMMARY
: Member of the Enrollment Management leadership team responsible for the effective administration of all financial aid programs and policies for CMU students.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Direct and manage student financial aid operations and programs Maintain institutional compliance for Title IV programs Assure proper counsel and advice to students and their families about financial aid opportunities Oversee the maintenance and integrity of information on the financial aid web page Ensure CMU programs and operations are administered in compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines Hire, train, and supervise student financial assistance staff Keep abreast of financial aid trends, technologies and best practices Work collaboratively with appropriate University personnel to review financial processes and improvements to gain efficiencies and maximize service to students Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
: Master's degree-Preferred Bachelor's Degree-Required; Accounting degree preferred Supervisor experience
  • Preferred 3-5 years of financial aid or higher education administrative experience
  • Preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Knowledge of Prison Education Programs

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General knowledge of accounting principles and methods, data processing systems and computer software.
