Assistant Director, Center for Emergency Preparedness Cleveland State University - 4.2 Cleveland, OH Job Details Part-time | Full-time 18 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Team leadership Driver's License Supervising experience Full Job Description Manages daily operation of the continuing education programs in emergency preparedness. Designs, develops and implements curricula and training programs that meet the learning needs of public and private sector professionals in areas of emergency preparedness and response, hazardous materials, industrial and public health, safety, security, and anti-terrorism. Establishes customer feedback mechanisms to measure satisfaction, new programming subjects, and identify areas needing improvement. Identifies, recruits and evaluates faculty and continuing education facilitators. Manages program budgets. Develops and maintains departmental goals, policies, procedures and standards. Maintains CPAE web-based marketing and social media plan for program advertising. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferably in emergency management, business administration, public administration or related field. Four (4) years of experience in one or more of the following: public safety, security, emergency medical services, industrial hygiene or applicable field. Supervisory or leadership experience. Related work experience may be substituted for education requirement. One (1) year of related work experience can be substituted for one (1) year of education. For example, a candidate with a high school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent and eight (8) years of related work experience can be eligible to apply. Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends) to accommodate client and program needs and travel off-campus. Valid driver's license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree Preferably in emergency management, business administration, public administration or related field. Experience facilitating emergency preparedness-related educational programs for adults, including knowledge of needs assessments, writing course objectives, managing curricula and evaluation educational programs. Working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA), and emergency response to hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents, business continuity, transportation, health care and/or law enforcements. Nursing Certificate, Paramedic Certificate, Paramedic Instructor Certificate. Sales or marketing experience preferably in customized training sales. Experience in continued education programs in higher education environment including grant proposal writing and conference development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Extensive knowledge of work experience training programs, education and certification requirements. Extensive knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and Homeland Security regulations, programs and practices. Skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being self-directed and forward-thinking. Ability to take ownership of projects, anticipate department needs and develop appropriate responses, meet deadlines, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, be a quick and continuous learner, and tackle emergencies and difficult situations. Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, "Customer Focus" attitude, strong public speaking and presentation skills, and ability to effectively communicate change.
