Academic Affairs Department Contact Email lbranham@centralstate.edu Job Summary/Basic Function The Executive Director of the University College shall provide leadership for the delivery of programs and services for first year students within the University College and campus wide. The Executive Director co-coordinates and assesses the effectiveness of programs to ensure that appropriate faculty, staff and other necessary resources are in place to provide efficient services to students on academic, social, and personal matters to enhance the retention and ultimate graduation of studentEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as the programmatic administrator/leader with respect to all efforts to support student academic success within the University College Responsible for supervising and monitoring the work of all coordinators and directors within the University College Develop and implement a strategic plan and initiatives related to freshmen retention models Effectively plan, develop, and implement SOAR in conjunction with Enrollment Management each semester and summer to help first-year students prepare for transition into college life Assist with the selection, training, and evaluation of faculty who teach First Year Seminar courses Monitor the Early Alert System, working with advisors and faculty to ensure student success Chair University Retention Committee which includes faculty, staff and students Serve on university wide committees including but not limited to Banner User Group, Default Management Team, and Enrollment Management Taskforce Coordinate the development and expansion of the campus and community partnerships necessary for service-learning programs in conjunction with the Office of Student Engagement and Campus Life Responsible for providing the Vice President of SAEM and Title Ill Office with regular status reports on all activities within UC (personnel, projects, and programs, etc.) that address student academic support Conducts research and implements best practices within the day-to-day operations of UC Provide training and professional development for the UC Staff Work collaboratively with deans, directors, and department chairs across campus to assess and strategic plan retention initiatives Work with Admissions to coordinate pre-college outreach activities to create a strong and quality pipeline for new students Coordinate University College Student Advisory Council, and other similar working groups Use social media and other tools to provide information to first-year and transfer students Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications An earned Master's degree with an appropriate area of preparation Have four to five years of administrative/leadership experience in an academic support services environment Demonstrated knowledge of and strong commitment to the mission and operation of the University College Demonstrated successful leadership/administrative experience Possesses the appropriate professional demeanor for working with stakeholders within and outside the university community Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative leadership environment Preferred knowledge of Title Ill and other private, state and federal funding sources Demonstrated competence in working with data systems The ability to perform administrative responsibilities in a team environment that is adapting to change Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree preferred Budgeted Annual Salary Commensurate with experienceSimilar remote jobs
