Valid Virginia teaching license with Library Media K-12 endorsement Teaching or Library experience preferred
REPORTS TO
Building Principal

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Foster an atmosphere which encourages student and staff library media center usage. Prepare and submit an annual budget for the library media center. Maintain accurate records of library media center reports such as: Expenditure reports, requisitions/purchase orders, Destiny Library Manager, circulation reports, technical work orders, etc. Inform staff of new professional resources that enhance teaching and learning. Collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy into the curriculum. Provide staff assistance in designing activities that help students learn to identify, analyze, and synthesize information by using a variety of materials & formats. Participate in instructional planning by collaborating with classroom teachers to design, implement & evaluate resource-based teaching units. Provide information literacy skills instruction. Assist students and staff in the use and production of supplementary teaching/learning materials.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation. Serve on committees as assigned. Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
SALARY RANGE
$48,956.98-$76,711.25
