Technology Coordinator Schedule :
Part time, hourly rate of pay. Some evening and Saturday shifts are required. On average, 15-20 hours per week.Qualifications :
High School diploma or equivalent. Library experience preferred but not required.- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the public and co-workers.
- Able to multi-task and use time efficiently.
- Familiarity with Windows and Mac computers, Apple and Android phones/tablets.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google software applications.
- Familiarity with software and applications such as Polaris, Canva, and Hoopla.
- Willingness and ability to learn new software programs as needed.
- Ability to contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
Nature of Responsibilities :
- The Technology Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the library's digital presence.
- Create graphic designs using Canva to promote library programs, events, or for informational purposes.
- All aspects of circulation desk work including but not limited to: assisting patrons in checking out/in materials, registering new patrons and renewing current patrons, placing holds, providing reference service, answering phones, pulling holds and routing material for interlibrary loans, shelving materials, shelf reading, emptying book drop and checking in materials from the book drop.
- Create book displays and reader's advisory materials.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and facilitating programming based around technology related topics.
- Assists in training staff and volunteers.
- Answering patrons with the use of Library equipment, resources, technology, and online resources.
- Maintains knowledge current trends and developments in technology as they relate to libraries and library users.
- Assists in monitoring and correcting patron behavior to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Attends professional development opportunities, required training, and staff meetings.
- Assists with maintaining statistics and reports. Provides Library Director with monthly updates on website and social media statistics.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Basic cleaning and light maintenance as needed.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
