Job Description
Beloit Public Library seeks a Library Service Specialist II - Resources to support the detailed, behind-the-scenes work that keeps library materials organized, accessible, and ready for patrons. This position is responsible for processing and cataloging library materials, maintaining accurate bibliographic records, and coordinating Interlibrary Loan requests and returns. Additional responsibilities may include acquisitions functions, authority control, serials and periodicals, mending and discarding materials, supply ordering, and reclassification projects. Library Service Specialist II - Resources requires a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and the ability to manage routine, highly detailed work independently. This position also provides customer service at Library Service Points and assists customers with Library resources, services, and technology. The successful candidate will be able to organize and prioritize work, respond to changing demands, demonstrate initiative, and work cooperatively with customers and coworkers. Employees in this position embody the Library's code of service by creating an atmosphere where customers and coworkers feel invited, informed, impressed, and inspired. They enthusiastically provide knowledgeable and meaningful assistance in the discovery and use of Library resources, services, and technology.
