Job Description

Open Call for Teachers Waldorf School of Lexington - 5.0 Lexington, MA Job Details Full-time $56,500 - $84,000 a year 9 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Vision insurance Professional development assistance Life insurance Qualifications Engaging lesson design (student motivation techniques) Full Job Description Waldorf School of Lexington, located in the Greater Boston area, is currently accepting applications for full-time Waldorf-trained teachers. This onsite position has an expected start date of August 2026 and offers full-benefits with a salary range of $56,500-84,000 commensurate with experience. As a Waldorf class teacher, the successful candidate will understand the development approach to educating both young children and adolescents, observe each individual child with reverence, and craft lessons to meet their ideals, fears and aspirations. By integrating the arts with history, science, geography, social studies, and mathematics, the class teacher will offer a transformational experience just at the time children are asking, "who am I and what am I here to do?" Lessons will be crafted to include projects which exercise student initiative and build self-knowledge. Waldorf class teachers are storytellers, musicians, artists, and dramatic coaches as they interpret the curriculum at each phase of development. The class teacher is also responsible for students' overall academic and social development. Subject specialists are part of the teaching team working toward the same goals. They teach Spanish, Mandarin, math, reading, English, music, movement, handwork, woodwork, and athletics. Special main lesson block teachers also support the class teacher as needed. A Student Support Team works closely with the team of teachers to serve each student's learning needs. In recent years our governance model has changed from one led by a college of teachers to a centralized leadership team with a Head of School.
