General Summary:
The High School Level Content Leaders and Secondary Core Content Curriculum, Assessment, and Instructional Leaders of Mathematics Team leads and facilitates a continuous cycle of improvement focused on improving student achievement throughout the district. These district leaders report to the Chief Academic Officer-Secondary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Develop understanding and knowledge of the State/District standards in the area of Mathematics and be able to communicate those standards to stakeholders through district curriculum units. 2) Communicate and create district curricular/instructional initiatives to stakeholders. 3) Outline, implement and lead district professional development in Mathematics for teachers across the district outside and/or inside of the school day 4) Analyze data for the district and site buildings involving district leaders. 5) Assist with District School Improvement Plan and School Improvement Plans in regards to Mathematics. 6) Examine and recommend assessments, curriculum, and course/unit adjustments for the district. 7) Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Recommended:
1) Minimum of five years of successful teaching and leadership experience 2) Is a respected teacher leader 3) Team player and advocate for continuous improvement 4) Ability to problem-solve and envision future state 5) Demonstrate a willingness to listen and learn 6) Strong and effective facilitation skills
