Job Description
Under the direction of the Title I Teacher and with guidance from the Instructional Coach, the Interventionist facilitates small group one on one instructions with K-5 children needing assistance learning to read or do math. The Interventionist is trained in research-based reading and math strategies and using prescribed interventions. They are responsible for conducting weekly progress monitoring to ensure students are on track to read or do math at the associated grade level. Highly Qualified Status (Two-year degree or higher, 60 college credits toward a degree, or a passing score on the MN approved Para Educator exam.) Basic child development educational background or knowledge preferred Willingness to work with and show respect for students. Ability to work independently. Demonstrated communication skills, patience, and flexibility. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to follow the teacher's plan and direction, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
