We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and can make reading fun, interactive, and meaningful. Our Book Club is not simply about reading a book and answering comprehension questions. We want students to enjoy stories, share their ideas, think critically, and feel excited about reading. Responsibilities Lead small-group Book Club classes for students in TK-8th grade Select or teach age-appropriate books and reading materials Lead fun and engaging discussions about characters, themes, plot, and ideas Create interactive activities related to each book Encourage students to express their opinions and participate in discussions Incorporate vocabulary, reading comprehension, critical thinking, and occasional writing activities Adjust lessons based on students' ages and reading levels Create a positive and encouraging classroom environment We Are Looking for

Someone Who:

Loves working with children Has an energetic, warm, and positive personality Can make reading and discussion fun and engaging Is comfortable teaching both younger and older students Is creative and able to bring stories to life through discussion, games, projects, or activities Is patient and encouraging with different personalities and reading levels Is reliable, responsible, and communicates well Can manage a small group of students effectively Preferred Qualifications Teaching, tutoring, or other experience working with children Background in English, Literature, Education, Child Development, or a related field is a plus College students and recent graduates with strong English skills and experience working with children are welcome to apply Previous Book Club or reading instruction experience is a plus, but not required Most Important to Us Degrees and teaching experience are helpful, but we especially value someone who connects well with children and knows how to make learning enjoyable. We want our students to leave Book Club saying: "That was fun! What are we reading next?"
