School Year Position Description:
The individual accepting this assignment will teach science at a 6th
  • 8th grade middle school.

Special Requirements:
(License, training, specialty skills or previous experience) 1. Valid Oregon teaching license appropriate to the assignment. 2. Science endorsement required. 3. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) training and experience preferred. 4. Knowledge of social/emotional needs of middle school students, and ability to work well with students and peers. 5. Use of a variety of learning and instructional models. 6. Interest in being involved with the total school community. 7. Knowledge of and experience with technology, and with alternative assessment strategies. 8.
Personal attributes:
Possession of a good sense of humor, willingness to work hard, demonstrated rapport with students and staff, high energy level, and possession of sound organizational skills and practices. 9. Must have the ability to work collaboratively to share facilities and responsibilities. 10. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality. 11. Bilingual applicants desired, but not required. This position is 1.0 FTE; 191 days Start date: 8/31/2026 New licensed staff orientation will be held 8/25-8/26 and will be paid in addition to annual salary.
