Our after-school program is an extension of that environment — offering students a calm, engaging space to unwind, explore, and build relationships after the school day ends. Position Overview We are seeking a warm, dependable, and creative After-School Teacher to work with children ages 3 to 6 OR children ages 6 to 12. This role supports the developmental needs of children in a structured-yet-relaxed afternoon setting, balancing freedom and responsibility while offering a safe, fun, and consistent end to the day Key Responsibilities Create a calm, respectful, and engaging after-school environment Supervise students indoors and outdoors with a focus on safety and independence Support a mix of quiet work time, play, crafts, and community-building activities Offer choices that reflect student interests and promote self-direction Build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear boundaries Communicate effectively with classroom teachers as needed Maintain consistent routines and uphold Montessori principles (grace & courtesy, choice, respect) Assist with cleaning, organization, and preparation of the after-care environment Ideal Candidate Enjoys working with younger children Can set clear limits while still being fun, approachable, and engaging Organized, calm, and flexible — especially during transitions or conflicts Comfortable managing a mixed-age group with differing needs and energy levels Familiar with Montessori philosophy or open to learning it Reliable and committed to consistency for students and the team Requirements Experience working with children Must be 18+ and able to pass all required background checks CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain) High school diploma required; college coursework in education or child development is a plus Commitment to the school year and possibly the summer To Apply Send your resume and a brief note of interest to Ruland Gagne, Head of School, .
