The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in classical piano performance, along with a dedication to nurturing students' technical skills and artistic expression. As a key member of our arts education team, you will design engaging lesson plans, manage diverse classroom environments, and support students' growth in both musical proficiency and confidence. Duties Develop comprehensive, personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's skill level, learning style, and musical interests Teach classical piano techniques while integrating music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a positive and disciplined learning environment Guide students through repertoire selection, practice strategies, and performance preparation Incorporate visual arts, choreography, or theater elements when appropriate to enhance artistic expression Foster student engagement through creative activities such as improvisation or composition projects Track student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement Experience Proven experience teaching classical piano at various levels, including beginner to advanced students Strong background in curriculum development for music education and arts instruction Experience working with children and youth programs, demonstrating patience and adaptability Knowledge of classroom management techniques specific to arts education settings Familiarity with teaching visual & performing arts, including choreography and dance instruction Experience in teaching instrumental performance and music theory fundamentals Background in theater or creative arts enhances ability to integrate interdisciplinary approaches into lessons Prior involvement in preschool or childhood development programs is advantageous Skills in tutoring adult learners or providing specialized instruction in creative arts are beneficial North County Music Academy offers the opportunity to work a flexible part time schedule in a fun environment with other like-minded musicians.
