Role:

We're seeking a part-time piano instructor to teach private lessons to kids (ages 7+) and adults at our cozy, welcoming studio in Fallbrook. Our curriculum blends classical foundations with contemporary styles and skills and encourages creativity, composition, and collaboration. The ability to teach group classes (ages 7+) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

Teach private piano lessons (and group classes, if applicable) using our creative, well-rounded curriculum Create weekly practice plans tailored to each student Communicate progress with parents and studio staff Prepare students for recitals and student band performances (in house) Contribute to student retention through friendly, supportive teaching Maintain an organized and professional workspace Assist at events such as recitals, open houses, or workshops as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in music, education, or equivalent work experience 2+ years teaching experience (private or group) Comfortable working with both children and adults Strong music reading skills Comfortable improvising and comping from a chord chart / lead sheet Ability to teach up to intermediate level and beyond Experience playing keys in contemporary band settings is highly preferred Excellent communication and organization skills Fluent in English; Spanish a plus Must pass a background check and LiveScan (finger print)

Schedule:

Immediate need: Thursdays and Fridays 1:30-6:30, Saturdays 10-2pm with the opportunity to add additional hours and/or additional days, especially Mondays. Our studio is open Monday-Saturday, and we are actively looking for someone who would like to grow to 10-20 hours/week.
