Job Description:
The School of Rock Little Wing and Rookies Instructors will help the Director and/or Teacher to create a warm, supportive and inspiring environment for young musicians aged 4-7. School of Rock's Little Wing and Rookies programs encourages 4-7 year-olds to reach their developmental milestones through fun musical activities and playing rock and roll musical instruments. The classes were designed to inspire the social and cognitive development of a child while enriching their language, literacy, and physical development. Little Wing and Rookies instructors must have high energy, is someone who will be well received by parents of young kids and is a vibrant and organized person who exudes enthusiasm and commitment to providing high quality music education to children under the age of 8.
The Gig:
The Instructor position will give potential early childhood education majors or other interested undergraduates in music and/or education the opportunity to assist and help develop our growing and dynamic music program. He or she must demonstrate a warm command of the lesson room, communicate creative and effective lesson ideas to supervisors, attend post or pre-class meetings with supervisors, and exhibit initiative to take on other responsibilities such as writing, making phone calls, presenting the program to potential community partners, etc.
Music Instruction:
Ensure students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs, using the School of Rock Method™ Create and document thoughtful lesson plans using our patented teaching
Method, Books and Method App Customer Connection:
Communicate with parents on the progress of students by creating quality lesson notes for at-home practice Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible while at the school
Skill Requirements:
Early Childhood Music Education DependableTeam Player Patient Highly Organized 2 + years experience teaching and/or performing music professionally Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design preferred. Strong customer relations skills. Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers Resourceful; good problem-solver Works well under pressure Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor Passion for teaching
Pay:
