About Foundation Music School Foundation Music School (FMS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to dynamic, student-centered music education . Our approach balances technical skill-building with creative exploration , ensuring that students develop confidence, musicianship, and a lasting love of music . At FMS, educators are encouraged to adapt their teaching to the unique needs of their students, creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences in both private and group settings. Position Overview We are seeking a part-time private violin instructor for approximately 6-10 students per week (3-5 hours). Private lesson load can be adjusted, depending on candidate availability and number of interested students. Main hours of teaching would be 3pm-7pm (Monday-Friday) during the Fall and Spring semesters, with some day time hours possible during the summer session. Candidates should be available 1-2 days of the week during the 4pm-7pm hours. This position is well-suited for an instructor who values both structure and creativity in music education. Responsibilities Provide high-quality private instruction in violin, adapting to students' individual goals and learning styles. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment , supporting students in their growth as musicians. Maintain clear communication with families and collaborate with fellow educators. Schedule & Compensation Teaching hours: 4:00 - 7:00 PM (Monday-Friday), with some earlier availability in summer if desired.
Lesson structure:
30-minute lessons in Fall/Spring; 45-minute private lessons in summer.
Compensation:
$27.00-$30.00 per hour, based on education and experience.
