Job Description
Job Overview Sparks Overland is seeking a skilled and dependable Fabrication & Assembly Technician to assist with the completion of a small production run of portable heaters. This is a contract-based opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, fabrication, and mechanical assembly. The work will be preformed in a well-equipped home workshop located in the Horsetooth Mountain area west of Fort Collins. We offer a flexible schedule and project-based compensation, making this a great fit for an experienced fabricator, mechanic, tradesperson, or skilled hobbyist looking for contract work. We are seeking someone who can work independently, maintain quality standards, and help complete approximately 13 units within a two-week timeframe. Training and a completed example unit will be provided. Candidate should be comfortable learning an established assembly process and working independently. Ideal Candidate This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building things, working with their hands, and figuring out practical solutions.
Compensation Project-based pay:
$165 per completed heater Flexible hours Additional contract opportunities may be available based on project needs Duties Assemble portable heater units using provided examples and established build methods Perform mechanical assembly and light fabrication tasks Utilize hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively Perform basic soldering and wiring tasks Conduct quality checks and troubleshooting during assembly Maintain a clean and organized work area Meet production and quality expectations within project timelines Communicate progress and any technical issues promptly Qualifications Required Prior experience in soldering is mandatory Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and machining tools Familiarity with manufacturing environments, fabrication processes, and assembly techniques Ability to read measurements and follow build examples accurately Knowledge of warehouse procedures including inventory management and material handling Reliable transportation to the Horsetooth Mountain work location Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance during fabrication.Pay:
