  • $35 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Ableton Live Flexible scheduling Teamwork Interpersonal skills Working with students Classroom experience Full Job Description Ableton Live Instructor
  • Part-Time Garnish Music Production & DJ School
  • Miami Garnish Music Production & DJ School Miami is looking for an experienced Ableton Live Instructor who genuinely loves teaching, mentoring, and helping developing producers grow.
We are not simply looking for a talented producer who knows Ableton Live. We are looking for someone who is a teacher first —someone who enjoys working with students, communicates well, is flexible, dependable, and brings a positive, professional attitude to the classroom. Our best instructors are passionate about music, enjoy sharing their knowledge, work well with different personalities and learning styles, and appreciate being part of a creative, professional environment. Who Thrives Here You may be a great fit if you: Genuinely love teaching and get satisfaction from seeing students improve Are passionate about music production and enjoy sharing what you know Are humble, approachable, patient and easy to work with Can leave ego at the door and make the student's learning experience the priority Are comfortable working with different personalities, ages, backgrounds, learning styles and skill levels Understand that part of being a great instructor is adapting your communication and teaching approach to the individual student Can remain patient and professional when a student needs additional explanation, learns differently, or presents a challenging personality Are flexible and understand that class schedules and student bookings can occasionally change Communicate promptly and professionally Are dependable and show up prepared and on time Enjoy being part of a small team where people help each other Take initiative rather than needing to be managed constantly Appreciate opportunities to grow, collaborate and work in a professional creative environment We expect instructors to approach differences in student personality, ability and learning style as a normal part of teaching. Patience, adaptability and professionalism with students are essential requirements of this position. Our Curriculum Garnish provides an established curriculum and course structure that defines the core material and learning objectives that must be covered. At the same time, we encourage instructors to bring their own personality, professional experience, production techniques, workflow tips, real-world examples and creative perspective into the classroom. Great instructors often add tremendous value beyond the written curriculum. We are not looking for instructors to simply read from a syllabus. We want knowledgeable professionals who can cover the required curriculum while enriching it with their own experience and teaching style. The key is making sure students receive the complete educational foundation of the program while also benefiting from the instructor's individual expertise. The Environment Our Miami school operates inside a professional, high-end recording studio rather than a traditional classroom. In addition to teaching, instructors have the opportunity to work in an environment surrounded by professional recording, mixing and production equipment. For the right instructors, there may also be opportunities to use the studio for approved creative projects, content creation and filming when the facility is available. We want instructors who appreciate being part of this environment and see teaching as more than simply clocking in for an hourly gig. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of teaching, instruction or professional mentoring experience required Advanced knowledge of Ableton Live required Strong music production and audio engineering skills Professional experience producing, recording, editing and mixing music Professional industry credits strongly preferred — including released productions, engineering/mixing credits, artist collaborations, label releases, touring/performance work, or other verifiable professional music-industry experience Strong understanding of MIDI, synthesis, sound design, arrangement and mixing Ability to explain technical and creative concepts clearly Demonstrated ability to work effectively with different personalities and learning styles Patience and professionalism when working with beginners and students who may require additional guidance Willingness and ability to cover an established curriculum while adding value through your own professional experience and expertise Reliable, punctual, flexible and communicative Professional, collaborative and low-ego approach Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in helping students succeed Schedule & Compensation This is a very part-time, as-needed position. Hours vary depending on student enrollment, group classes and private lesson bookings. It is best suited for an active producer, engineer, musician or educator who wants teaching to be a rewarding part of their professional life rather than someone seeking guaranteed full-time hours. Some evening and weekend availability may be required.
