Job Description

After School Private Violin & Viola Instructor
OVERVIEW
Emerson School is currently seeking a violin and viola teacher for private student lessons during after school hours to begin on September 14th, 2026. In this role, the individual will teach lessons for students in grades Y5-8 at varying levels of proficiency.
Responsibilities include:
Explaining and demonstrating performance techniques Delivering information to students on topics such as music fundamentals and theory Preparing course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts Our ideal candidate will communicate well with parents, faculty, and staff and demonstrate care and patience with students. Your schedule will be set up and maintained for you by the Emerson After School Program, and families will be billed by the school. You will be paid in a bi-weekly paycheck. Our after school music instructors are paid $35/half-hour. Applicants must be available to work at least two days a week 3:30pm-6:00pm . Experience teaching private lessons to children is necessary, and references are required. Reliable transportation is a must.
