Job Description

Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher for our Store 2440. In this part-time role, you'll provide private and small-group lessons for beginner to intermediate students, focusing on band and orchestra instruments. You'll assess student skill levels, create personalized lesson plans, and prepare students for concerts, auditions, and school programs. Collaborating with store staff, you'll support rentals, accessories, and repairs while promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment. Ideal candidates have teaching or performance experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to music education and community engagement. Responsibilities Provide private and small-group music lessons to beginner and intermediate students Assess student skill levels and set clear learning goals Develop and deliver structured lesson plans focused on band and orchestra instruments Prepare students for recitals, concerts, auditions, and school performances Maintain accurate schedules, attendance, and progress notes Communicate regularly with students and parents about progress and practice expectations Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, repairs, and accessory sales Promote a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment Uphold Music & Arts policies and standards for safety and professionalism Participate in occasional in-store events, workshops, or demos to drive engagement Required Skills Music instruction Lesson planning Student assessment Instrument proficiency (band and orchestra) Classroom and studio management Music theory knowledge Performance preparation and coaching Communication and interpersonal skills Basic sales support in a retail environment Recordkeeping and scheduling
