Music Teacher

Job Description

The Sutton School and Newark Street School are seeking a Music Teacher who will teach kindergarten through eighth grade students. The ideal candidate will design and present exciting lessons (instruments, singing, music composition, etc) that actively engages all learners and builds an appreciation and exposure to a wide variety of music. We have a professional community of integrated arts teachers in the district who meet regularly to support common practices and contribute to special projects in the school. Knowledge of Responsive Classroom and/or Developmental Design techniques, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports are preferred. The pay range for this position is $46,267-$89,467. The Sutton School and Newark Street School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing.

We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton, NH and St. Johnsbury, VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
