Job description Would you like to teach beginning guitar to children and get paid for it? We provide all curriculum, lesson plans, and paid training. Youth Enrichment League's mission is to enrich the lives of children to THINK, LEARN and
PLAYING WELL.
Youth Enrichment League {YEL!} partners with local communities to offer children, primarily in grades K-5, a variety of enrichment opportunities, i.e. robotics, LEGOs, Fencing, and more. In this
PART TIME TEACHER
position you will be responsible for the following:
SHARING YOUR PASSION AND ENTHUSIASM
for playing the guitar and teaching.
CAN DO ATTITUDE
Going above and beyond to ENGAGE students in your pre-packaged lessons teaching basic engineering skills.
STEWARDSHIP AND SAFETY
Following our safety policies and providing excellent service.
SCHEDULE
Teachers typically work 1 hour after school, 3-5 days a week during the school year. Opportunities to work up to 30 hours a week are available during the summer.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPECTATIONS
Experience working with children is
PREFERRED.
Experience examples include: youth summer camps, youth coaching, Sunday School instruction, baby sitting, having children of your own, etc. Availability during weekday after school hours (2:00-5:00PM). A reliable vehicle/transportation. A valid Drivers License and ability to transport and store supplies needed to teach class. Ability to play the guitar at an intermediate level or better. Ability to read sheet music.
BENEFITS
An ability to make a difference in your local community. Instructors are given all the supplies they need to flourish in an after school setting. Supplies typically are one medium to large suitcase and one small duffel bag of materials. Supplies vary depending on subject and course. Paid training includes an orientation of our policies and procedures as well as class specific training, typically 1 hour per course. This position allows you to gain experience in teaching kids, and offers insight insight into a possible career path. Get paid $5 for arriving 15 minutes early to class and mileage bonus if the distance from your home to the school is over 15 miles.
NOTE:
Background check is required More after school part time teaching opportunities are available. In addition to Robotics classes, {YEL!} offers opportunities in subjects such as: Chess
  • Using lessons developed by a Grand Master. Coding
  • Basic coding is taught with complete lesson plans provided. Extreme STEM (Legos)
  • Legos are utilized to teach basic engineering principles. Fencing
  • A dynamic, fast growing sport. Guitar
  • Beginning guitar lessons using our robust curriculum. Robotics
  • Build robots with Legos and sync the modules to the computers. Summer camps
  • week-long camps are offered in all the subjects above as well as sewing and rocketry.
Note:
Teachers have the option to teach more than one subject. Think, Learn and Play Well with {YEL!}
