9667419-55304 Job Description Step into a meaningful role supporting students physical growth and development as a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher. This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to guide and inspire students by providing tailored physical education experiences. Working Monday through Friday, youll have a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week, collaborating with two middle school sites from early September through the end of November. Your expertise will help foster confidence, motor skills, and lifelong healthy habits in students with diverse needs. You'll benefit from working alongside dedicated educators and support personnel in a collaborative, student-centered environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid MN Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) license (required) Previous experience teaching adapted or physical education is highly valued Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and adaptive strategies Strong communication and organizational skills Enthusiasm for working with middle school students Ability to demonstrate flexibility, compassion, and creativity in the classroom
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement adaptive physical education curriculum for students with varying abilities Assess student needs, set appropriate goals, and track progress Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families Engage students in a variety of adapted activities, fostering participation and self-confidence Complete required documentation, including progress reports and IEP-related tasks Maintain a safe and positive environment that encourages movement and inclusion This is an excellent opportunity for teachers passionate about adaptive physical education to make an impact within a supportive school setting.
