Qualifications:
NJ instructional certificate in Physical Education and Health Hold and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications If assigned responsibilities for teaching swimming, must hold and maintain an American Red Cross water safety certificate registered with the New Jersey State Department of Education Have experience in teaching and working with students in the field of comprehensive health and physical education, unless entering teaching from an alternative certification program Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA Excellent classroom management Effective instructional practices and strategies Experience working with elementary students Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications Diagnose student strengths and weakness and match those skills with appropriate techniques and materials Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills For more information about this position, please visit the Job Descriptions page.
