Full Job Description Position Overview:

Seabird Preschool is a play based preschool located in San Francisco providing care and education for children ages 2 to 6 years. We are currently seeking a Director to manage and oversee daily preschool and childcare operations. Our Director is responsible in planning and implementing a developmentally age appropriate curriculum, establishing new policies and educational goals, and directing the actions of lead teachers, assistant teachers, staff and volunteers. Candidate will be energetic, displaying a professional demeanor at all times, self-starter, well versed in early childhood development teaching techniques and must have the ability to lead and assist in classroom management.

Responsibilities:

Ensures academic program is conducted to school's established mission statement Has strong knowledge of DRDP reporting and oversees teachers' DRDP reporting and ensures all classes complete reports in timely manner Conducts school tours for prospective families Plans, directs, and monitors content of educational, vocational, or student activity programs Collaborates with administrative staff to establish new policies and educational goals Conducts job interviews Evaluates and develops program curriculum and modifies as appropriate Responsible for identifying purchasing needs Develops, promotes and maintains a positive image of Seabird Preschool Ensures timely collections of tuition and fees Conducts routine staff meetings and coordinates parent meetings

Requirements:

B.A. in Child Development or higher degree 24 ECE/CD units with core courses 6 units of Supervision/Administration in Child Development 2 units of Adult Supervision Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an educational director Experience supervising preferred LiveScan, CPR certified, TB tested

Pluses:

Bilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, or any other language Ability to sing, dance or play an instrument Artistic•ability to teach drawing, painting, sculpting, etc. Athletic•ability to play and teach one or more sports
