A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Center Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Kids Space Learning Center , ensuring a safe, nurturing, educational, and positive environment for children, families, and staff. This is a hands-on leadership position . Our Director will not simply manage from the office — they will be actively involved in the classrooms, supporting teachers and assisting with the care and supervision of children when needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Center Operations & Leadership Oversee the daily operation of the childcare center Ensure compliance with Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Regulation (HHSC/CCR) and applicable Texas Minimum Standards Maintain required licensing records and documentation Prepare for and respond professionally to licensing inspections Ensure proper staffing and child-to-caregiver ratios are maintained Ensure required policies and procedures are followed Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional childcare environment Staff Leadership Supervise, support, coach, and evaluate teachers and staff Assist with staff scheduling and daily staffing needs Conduct staff meetings and provide ongoing guidance Ensure employees complete required orientation and training Monitor staff compliance with licensing and center policies Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability Classroom Support —

Assist teachers in the classroom when needed Provide hands-on care and supervision of children Support classroom activities and daily routines Maintain appropriate supervision of children Step into classrooms when staffing needs require additional support Help maintain a positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment Children & Families Build positive relationships with parents and families Respond professionally to parent questions and concerns Support enrollment tours and new-family orientation Promote excellent customer service and parent satisfaction Help ensure every child receives quality care and attention
TEXAS LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the applicable Texas Child Care Regulation requirements to serve as a Child-Care Center Director. Candidates must be prepared to provide documentation demonstrating applicable: Minimum age and education requirements Required childcare education and experience Texas Child Care Regulation director qualifications Required background checks Required employment affidavits and documentation Required professional development and training Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification/training Knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards and childcare licensing requirements Ability to obtain/maintain the appropriate Texas Director's Certificate Texas CCR evaluates the qualifications of a designated director and issues a Director's Certificate when the applicable requirements are met. Directors and caregivers are also subject to Texas training requirements, including pediatric first aid and
