Our licensed early childhood education centers provide warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. Job Summary Under the supervision of the Director and Executive Director, the Infant Teacher is responsible for providing nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate care for infants from birth to 24 months of age. Maintain supervision and staffing ratios in accordance with California Title 22 regulations. This position is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and emotional well-being of each child while supporting their physical, cognitive, social, and language development. Daily Responsibilities-Care & Supervision Treat all children, parents, and coworkers with dignity and respect. Warmly greet each child and parent at drop-off and pick-up. Provide nurturing, attentive, and responsive care that supports each child's emotional security and developmental needs. Release children only to authorized persons. Conduct a daily health check on each child and notify the Director if a child is ill. Track and supervise children with allergies in the classroom. Classroom Environment & Activities Plan and execute all daily classroom and outdoor activities. Provide an age-appropriate environment that challenges each child's developmental level. Support gross motor development (crawling, sitting unsupported, pulling up, walking, stairs). Support fine motor development (reaching, grasping, stacking, page-turning, finger painting, scribbling). Encourage emerging independence in picking up toys, self-dressing, using a spoon, drinking from a cup, zipping/unzipping, and handwashing. Support language development by speaking in clear, age-appropriate sentences without condescension and modeling correct English. Use positive guidance and redirection when needed. Maintain a sanitized, clean, neat, and organized classroom. Sanitize cribs, cots, mats, sheets, blankets, and any toys placed in children's mouths daily. Feeding, Diapering & Routines Schedule, supervise, and diaper children in your classroom. Feed children, including bottle-feeding infants in accordance with licensing guidelines. Supervise nap time and ensure safe sleep practices. Attend to toileting needs promptly as children develop readiness. Documentation & Communication Maintain required records of each child's health, eating, sleeping, diapering, and toileting. Provide parents with daily written updates on their child's eating, sleeping, temperament, and health. Track daily attendance and each child's personal belongings. Build positive rapport and communication with parents and coworkers. Report extreme behaviors, health issues, parent complaints, needed repairs, or classroom concerns to the Director. Set a professional example in the classroom at all times. Periodic Duties Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed. Write developmental assessment reports for children above 15 months as needed. Dispense prescribed medication to children in accordance with school policies. Attend monthly staff meetings. Participate in staff development trainings, supplemental coursework, conferences, and other professional growth opportunities. Train new teachers as needed. Conduct and record emergency and evacuation drills. Qualifications, Skills & Experience Per Title 22, Section 101416.2, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: 12 units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development, including at least 3 units in an Infant/Toddler course (required). At least 6 months of work experience in a licensed childcare center caring for infants (required). Must be at least 18 years of age. Current CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification (required). Computer literacy and ability to maintain digital records. Ability to work both independently and as part of a culturally diverse team. Positive, professional, and courteous demeanor. Ability to understand and communicate in English (required). Bilingual skills desirable.Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher. Prior experience in a Title 22 licensed setting. Physical & Cognitive Requirements The physical requirements below are essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations will be made for any employee or applicant unable to perform such duties, unless the accommodation would cause undue hardship. Frequently lift, hold, and carry infants weighing up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance. Lift boxes and items weighing up to 25 pounds. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, sit on the floor, and reach above shoulders unassisted for extended periods. Interact with infants at their eye level. Assess and respond quickly in emergency situations. Learn, understand, and comply with licensing regulations and program standards. Use computer technology for daily records, communication, and documentation. Conditions of Employment Must be at least 18 years of age. Criminal record clearance through DOJ, FBI, and the Child Abuse Central Index (CACI) prior to employment. Completion of a health screening with TB clearance within the last 12 months.Proof of immunizations:
Measles (MMR), Pertussis (Tdap), and annual Influenza (or signed flu waiver). Completion of AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate. Signed acknowledgment ofLIC 9108
