The focus is to ensure women in California are health before, during, and after pregnancy; ensure all infants are born healthy and thrive in their first year of life; and reduce infant mortality with a focus on reducing disparities. To achieve its goals, the BIH Program is a client-centered, strength-based group intervention with complementary 1:1 support that embraces the life course perspective and promotes social support, empowerment, skill building, stress reduction and goal setting. This project is implemented in a hybrid structure with San Joaquin County Public Health Services. Responsibilities Provide "Child Watch" services for the BIH participant's children during group sessions, program enrollment, and during engagement activities. Assist with identifying and partnering with the community, organizations, and local agencies to promote the BIH program for program recruitment, enrollment, and retention. Assist with presentations to the community and local providers regarding the available BIH program services and other local partnerships within the African American community. Attends as appropriate or required Program, Division, local, regional and state: activities, meetings, conferences, calls, in-services and trainings related to MCAH and BIH issues. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations. Provide door-to-door transportation for participants attending group sessions, program enrollment, and engagement activities. Complete other duties as assigned.
