Here at Luna Acres Preschool & Daycare, we are looking for a certified preschool teacher with 3+ years of experience. The hired applicant will be taking on a leading role for our growing preschool room which currently has about 11 kids enrolled. We plan to grow this to 15-18 kids and there is a well versed assistant teacher already in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Child Development & Education Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development based on the "Brightwheel Experience Curriculum" we purchased for the classroom Create a positive, supportive environment that encourages curiosity and learning through play Observe, assess, and document children's progress and adjust instruction as needed Curriculum & Planning Lead weekly planning and ensure alignment with developmental standards Rotate and refresh classroom materials to support curriculum themes Introduce seasonal and cultural learning experiences throughout the year Classroom Leadership Supervise and mentor assistant/associate teachers in daily classroom routines Delegate responsibilities and promote teamwork among classroom staff Model positive behavior management and developmentally appropriate practice Environment & Safety Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom space Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health policies, and safety procedures Conduct regular safety checks and manage risk appropriately Communication & Family Engagement Build strong relationships with families and provide regular updates on child development Lead parent-teacher conferences and address any concerns with empathy and professionalism Maintain open, ongoing communication with all families, admin and staff Administration & Compliance Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, incidents, and developmental observations through the Brightwheel app Stay current on continuing education and certification requirements (CPR, First Aid, etc.) Support center-wide initiatives, events, and program goals
Required Abilities, Training & Certifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) preferred Level 2 certification in PDIS Minimum 3 years of experience in an early childhood setting Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and be active with children The goal for our preschool room is to ensure a safe, nurturing environment, assisting with daily routines (meals, naps, hygiene, diapering), helping implement lessons, supervising play, and communicating with parents about children's development and progress, focusing on physical, intellectual, and social growth. Key duties involve constant supervision, preparing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and fostering positive child-adult and parent relationships.
