Job Description

Preschool/Kindergarten Lead Teacher We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Lead Preschool Teacher to join our school community, working with 4 and 5 year old children. The ideal candidate has experience fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, guiding them through their early developmental stages along with working work closely with parents and staff to support the learning and growth of every child. This role involves a good amount of outdoor time in all weather.
Responsibilities:
Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and rooted in Waldorf principles. Manage classroom behavior effectively, utilizing positive reinforcement strategies. Provide individualized attention to children, addressing their unique needs and interests. Facilitate early intervention strategies for children who may require additional support. Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and well-being. Organize activities that encourage social interaction, creativity, and cognitive skills. Ensure compliance with all daycare regulations and child welfare standards. Love the outdoors and spending time outside in all weather--Walks to the forest, prairie and playground time are part of the daily curriculum. Guide children through daily rhythms, including outdoor play, circle time, storytelling, creative play, and mealtimes. Model respectful behavior and gentle discipline, fostering a sense of wonder and cooperation Participate in ongoing professional development and weekly team meetings Must be open to working with a mentor and willing to take direction well Must be agile and able to get up and down off the floor easily and carry 30 lbs if needed.
Qualifications:
Experience working with young children Interest in or knowledge of Waldorf education and child development Ability to work collaboratively with the assistant teacher and colleagues Patient, reliable, and committed to fostering a nurturing, rhythmical environment Must be introspective and willing to do inner work CPR/First Aid certification and background check required Previous knowledge of working in a licensed childcare environment This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has experience working with young children and is either interested in the Waldorf model of education or looking to deepen their experience in a supportive and heartfelt school community.
