Job Description

KinderCare is seeking Lead Teachers for our Round Lake Beach center in Illinois. In this role, you will create a safe, inclusive, and engaging early learning environment, guiding children through play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum. You'll design daily lesson plans, observe and document children's progress, and communicate regularly with families. Lead Teachers model best practices, mentor assistant staff, and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and licensing standards while contributing to a collaborative, growth-focused center culture. Responsibilities Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, engaging lessons and activities Lead the classroom environment to ensure safety, organization, and positive behavior Observe and document children's growth and development Build strong, professional relationships with families and communicate progress Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations Collaborate with center leadership and teachers to align curriculum and standards Mentor and support assistant teachers and classroom staff Maintain a clean, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment Required Skills Curriculum planning Early childhood classroom management Child development knowledge (ages 0-5) Lesson planning Student assessment and documentation Parent communication and conferencing Health, safety, and licensing compliance Team leadership and mentoring Behavior guidance techniques Basic computer skills for recordkeeping
