The Pre-K 4 Teacher is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate, play-based learning environment that supports each child's academic, social-emotional, physical, and developmental growth. This role focuses on building foundational skills in early literacy, math, communication, motor development, independence, and positive social interactions while preparing students for a successful transition to kindergarten. The ideal candidate is patient, creative, enthusiastic about early childhood education, and committed to creating a safe and supportive classroom where every child feels valued and encouraged to learn. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for Pre-K 4 students Implement state early learning standards, school curriculum, and required assessments Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, play, and hands-on learning Support the development of early literacy, language, math, fine and gross motor, and social-emotional skills Incorporate music, movement, storytelling, art, centers, and group activities into daily instruction Establish consistent classroom routines and age-appropriate behavior expectations Monitor and assess student development and adjust instruction based on individual needs Maintain accurate records of student progress, development, and assessment results Provide differentiated support for students with varying learning and developmental needs Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and areas of growth Build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and school leadership Collaborate with special education staff and other support professionals to meet the needs of all learners Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment Submit lesson plans and other required documentation within established timelines Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and family engagement activities Assist with arrival, dismissal, supervision, and other assigned school duties QualificationsDesired Skills Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred Previous experience working with preschool or early childhood students preferred Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for young children Ability to work collaboratively with families, teachers, administrators, and support staff Comfortable using age-appropriate technology and digital learning tools when beneficial to instruction Patient, dependable, energetic, and passionate about helping young children learn and grow Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and learn new instructional strategies
