Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Afternoon Teacher to join our team! In this role, you will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners during the afternoon hours, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow while ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom experience. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Foster a positive classroom environment by managing behavior effectively and promoting respectful interactions among children. Support child development through individualized attention, early intervention strategies, and tailored activities for children with special needs. Maintain accurate documentation of children's progress, including assessments and standardized testing results. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently; administer first aid and CPR when necessary. Collaborate with colleagues to plan classroom activities that promote early childhood education principles such as Montessori or preschool methodologies. Requirements Minimum Requirements Must be at least 17 years old (or meet center hiring policy). Eligible for Louisiana Child Care Criminal Background Check. Reliable transportation. Positive, dependable, and professional. Ability to lift 35 pounds. Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors. Willingness to complete required training.
