At the South Shore YMCA's Nature Science Center in Norwell, MA, you'll lead a preschool classroom built around real dirt, real weather, and real discovery. As a Preschool Teacher, you'll guide young learners through nature-based exploration up to 80% of the day outdoors, rain or shine, the kind of hands-on, wonder-filled early childhood experience that stays with kids for life.
Your Role Will Include:
Create & Implement:
Develop engaging lesson plans that support children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
Nurture & Support:
Foster strong relationships with children and families, keeping them informed of their progress.
Ensure Safety & Inclusion:
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment where every child feels valued.
Collaborate & Grow:
Work with a team of educators to create a positive, cohesive classroom atmosphere.
Meet High Standards:
Maintain compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC best practices, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Meet EEC Teacher qualifications. Degree in Early Childhood Education (Associate's preferred, Bachelor's a plus). Knowledge of EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC best practices. Must be at least 18 years old. Strong classroom management skills and ability to work collaboratively. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development. Classroom experience preferred but not required.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, reach, lift up to 25 lbs, and actively engage in activities such as climbing, running, and outdoor play.
Salary and Benefits:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience and education.
Sick time accrual:
1 hour per 30 hours worked. Complimentary individual YMCA membership. 25% discount on childcare. 50% discount on camp.
