Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic 3/4's Childcare Lead Teacher to join our dynamic early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, develop engaging curricula, and foster a nurturing environment that promotes the holistic development of young children. Your expertise will help create a positive learning space where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore and grow. Seeking a person who is passionate about child-led activities, has strong classroom management skills, and a love of helping shape the next generation. Duties Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Lead classroom activities that promote child development in areas such as cognitive skills, motor skills, behavior management, and social interaction. Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment by managing classroom behavior and maintaining effective classroom management strategies. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or development. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child safety or welfare. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements and participate in ongoing professional development focused on early intervention, special education, and childhood development techniques. Maintain accurate records of children's progress through assessments and standardized testing when applicable; adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools. Strong knowledge of child development instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management best practices. Experience with special education strategies and early intervention programs is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members using excellent communication skills. Certification in first aid and CPR is required. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to ensure compliance at all times. Preschool CDA preferred, 90-hour preschool certification. Knowledge of preschool teaching methods, toddler care practices, and experience implementing standardized testing procedures when necessary.
