Your days will include:

Building warm, responsive relationships with infants and getting to know their individual personalities, routines, and needs Creating developmentally appropriate learning experiences through play, music, movement, sensory exploration, books, and plenty of interaction Planning and implementing an engaging infant curriculum based on early childhood development Maintaining consistent feeding, sleeping, diapering, and care routines for each child Creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, organized, engaging, and safe Communicating with families about their child's day, development, milestones, and special moments Documenting children's learning and developmental progress Working collaboratively with your teaching team and center leadership Maintaining required teacher-to-child ratios and following Maine childcare licensing requirements Keeping the classroom clean, organized, and ready for children to learn and explore Participating in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities What We're Looking For Our ideal Lead Infant Teacher is someone who is patient, nurturing, reliable, and genuinely enjoys working with babies. You should be comfortable taking ownership of your classroom while also being part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with infants or young children in a childcare or educational setting preferred Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices Strong communication and relationship-building skills Dependable, flexible, and able to work collaboratively with others CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain Associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus Most importantly, we're looking for someone who loves working with young children and wants to be part of a team that takes early childhood education seriously while still having fun along the way.
