Duties Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and curriculum frameworks such as Montessori or other pedagogies. Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and respect among children. Utilize effective behavior management strategies to support children's social-emotional growth and resolve conflicts constructively. Conduct assessments of children's progress through observations, standardized testing where applicable, and documentation to tailor instruction to individual needs. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's development, milestones, and any concerns through meetings or written updates. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare or safety. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that encourages learning through play and exploration. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, classroom activities, and school events to enhance the overall educational experience. Administer first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children at all times. Experience Proven experience working with children in preschool or early childhood education settings. Strong background in curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children including literacy education, math concepts, and early intervention strategies. Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to foster positive behavior and engagement among young learners. Experience working with children requiring special education services or early intervention programs is highly desirable. Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in childcare environments such as daycare or private preschools. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols. Prior experience implementing Montessori methods or other specialized curricula is a plus. Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in early childhood education or Montessori training are preferred.
