—
AND HOW YOU MOVE UP
We publish our pay scale and we hire to it. It's the same scale every person on our staff is paid from, so where you start isn't a negotiation — it's a credential question: $13.00

  • 15.50/hr — NCECC or an active CDA, already earned $15.00
  • 17.
00/hr — Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development — OR an active CDA plus 3+ years verified experience in a licensed center If you have the degree, say so on your application. It moves you up the ladder on day one.
AND YOUR EDUCATION PAYS YOU TWICE
Alamance County participates in Child Care WAGE$, which pays a salary supplement directly to you — on top of your hourly wage, twice a year — and the amount scales with your education level. An associate's degree earns a meaningfully larger supplement than a credential alone. We'll walk you through the application. Still working on your degree? We'll help you connect with
T.E.A.C.H.
scholarships to finish it. Several of our staff are doing this right now.
