Experience in working with individuals with cultural and/or ethnic differences is preferred. Participating parents attend their child's school Monday through Friday, 2 hours per day. Parents identify educational and career goals, and engage in learning English along with other parents. Participants also engage in Parent Time and PACT time during the week, as well. Parent Time is sessions based on parent-generated topics and goals that connect curricular objectives and family learning activities. PACT (Parents and Children Together) time encourages parent-child interactions, including bringing children and parents together to work, play, read, and learn in the child's classroom during the school day.
