Responsibilities Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards and the program's curriculum goals. Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, socialization, and learning among infants and toddlers. Manage daily classroom activities, including supervising children during play, meal times, naps, and educational activities to ensure their safety and well-being. Utilize knowledge of child development instruction to tailor activities that support individual growth in areas such as literacy, math, physical development, and social-emotional skills. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through regular updates and conferences. Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for behavior management and classroom management that promote positive interactions among children. Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare or safety issues. Stay current with best practices in early childhood education, including curriculum development, special education strategies, early intervention techniques, and preschool teaching methodologies. Skills Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings, including toddler care and preschool environments. Strong knowledge of child development principles, childhood development stages, and age-specific educational strategies. Proficiency in curriculum development tailored for infants and toddlers with an emphasis on literacy education, math skills, physical education, and overall child welfare. Excellent classroom management skills to create an organized learning environment conducive to young children's needs. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners; active listening skills are essential. Experience implementing behavior management techniques that promote positive behavior and social-emotional growth. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect; ability to document incidents accurately. Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is highly valued. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant for early learners; experience tutoring or providing additional support for children needing extra help is advantageous.
