The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment where children can learn and grow. The teacher will be responsible for developing lesson plans, facilitating activities, and fostering positive relationships with students and their families. This role should also follow St Timothy Lutheran Child Care Center's mission: CARE for Children and Families NURTURE the whole child ACHIEVE kindergarten readiness PROMOTE spiritual formation Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards. Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Monitor and assess children's progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a supportive community. Manage classroom behavior effectively using appropriate behavior management techniques. Provide care for infants and toddlers as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being. Collaborate with special education professionals to support children with disabilities or special needs. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development. Requirements Experience working with children in daycare settings or similar environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with students who have disabilities is a plus. Strong behavior management skills to effectively guide children's interactions and learning experiences. Familiarity with infant care practices is beneficial for those working with younger age groups. Ability to lift 30-50lbs repeatedly. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues. A genuine passion for teaching and nurturing young minds is essential for success in this role.
