PJ's Pals Childcare Center LLC is searching for a passionate, nurturing early childhood educator to join our fantastic team! Positions We're Anticipating Toddler Teachers Preschool Teachers Assistant Teachers / Floaters Support Staff (as enrollment grows) About PJ's Pals PJ's Pals has proudly served families in the Greece/Rochester area as a licensed Group Family Daycare, and we're now expanding into a full-scale center! Our program focuses on hands-on learning, creativity, and social-emotional growth in a cozy, supportive environment. Responsibilities Provide a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. Build strong, caring relationships with infants and their families. Maintain daily communication with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and needs. Ensure compliance with New York State OCFS childcare regulations, health, and safety standards. Assist with feeding, diapering, napping, and developmental routines. Keep classroom clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to create a positive, supportive team culture.
Qualifications & Requirements Lead Teacher Candidates:
Must meet OCFS minimum qualifications for a classroom teacher, such as:
Infant/Toddler Teacher:
CDA in Infant/Toddler or 9 college credits in Early Childhood/Child Development + 1 year of related experience.
Preschool Teacher:
CDA or 9 college credits in Early Childhood/Child Development + 1 year of related experience.
Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Must be able to meet all OCFS background check and health requirements prior to employment. Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice , classroom management, and positive guidance strategies. Ability to collaborate with colleagues, communicate with families, and create engaging, play-based lesson experiences. Passionate about creating a safe, loving, and joyful learning environment. Assistant Teachers /
Support Staff:
High School Diploma or GED required. At least 1 year of experience working with children under age 5 (daycare, school, camp, etc.) preferred. Willingness to complete all required OCFS trainings (CPR/First Aid, Health & Safety, Mandated Reporter, etc.). A positive attitude, reliability, and genuine love for working with children. Eagerness to learn and grow within PJ's Pals' nurturing, team-oriented environment. General Requirements for
All Staff:
Must be at least 18 years old . Able to meet physical and safety requirements of the classroom setting (lifting up to 30 lbs, sitting on the floor, etc.). Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
