Position Summary:
Ensures, supports, and promotes each child's safety, health, and development in cooperation with their parents and other early childhood professionals in a manner consistent with the Head Start Performance Standards, USDA, and day care licensing regulations. Plans and develops a developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum which meets the needs of the children and families.
Essential Functions:
Ensure the safety, health, and development of infants and toddlers in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment Plan and implement culturally responsive curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment; supervise children at all times Complete developmental screenings, observations, assessments, and individualized learning plans Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and specialists to support each child's development Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences to discuss child progress and goals Participate in case management, staff meetings, trainings, and program planning activities Provide guidance, support, and direction to classroom staff, assistant teachers, and volunteers Maintain accurate and timely documentation and required program records Promote positive nutrition practices, health, and safety standards Support family engagement, communication, and parent involvement activities Maintain confidentiality of child and family information Respond appropriately to emergencies using First Aid and CPR; participate in drills Support transportation and field trip activities as required Maintain regular and reliable attendance Perform other related duties as assigned
