Job Summary Sonshine Preschool is seeking a reliable, energetic, and patient Part-Time School Age Teacher to join our amazing School Age team! We are looking for someone who enjoys working with elementary-aged children, brings creativity and enthusiasm to the classroom, and works well as part of a team. This position is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday , with a schedule of either 2:00-6:00 PM or 3:00-6:00 PM . Reliability and consistent attendance are very important for this role. Additional hours may be available when local public schools are closed for holidays, breaks, or other scheduled days off. If you are willing and eligible to drive the preschool van for school pick-up, additional hours and opportunities may also be available. Responsibilities Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Facilitate age-appropriate games, crafts, educational activities, and recreational programs that promote social skills and creativity Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive environment and address conflicts effectively Assist with the setup and cleanup of activity spaces, ensuring cleanliness and organization of materials and equipment Support children with special needs by applying inclusive teaching practices and following individualized plans when necessary Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and team members regarding children's progress and any concerns Follow all first aid protocols, including administering CPR or AED when needed, to ensure immediate response to emergencies Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Experience facilitating youth group activities, outdoor work experience, or theater experience is a plus Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of children and support their individual needs including those with special education requirements Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members in a professional manner Enthusiastic team player committed to youth development programs and creating an inclusive environment Join us in inspiring young minds through dynamic activities that promote growth, confidence, and fun!
