Duties and Responsibilities Create a warm, loving, and nurturing classroom environment where every child feels safe, welcomed, and valued. Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and learning experiences that promote literacy, early math skills, science, creativity, physical development, and social-emotional growth. Incorporate Christian values such as kindness, compassion, respect, patience, gratitude, and love throughout the school day. Encourage children's natural curiosity through hands-on learning, play, exploration, art, music, movement, and meaningful classroom experiences. Build positive and caring relationships with each child while recognizing and supporting their individual personalities, strengths, and developmental needs. Maintain active supervision at all times and follow all preschool safety procedures. Promote positive behavior through age-appropriate guidance, encouragement, redirection, and consistent classroom expectations. Observe children's development and document progress to help support their continued growth and learning. Communicate professionally and regularly with parents and guardians regarding classroom activities, developmental progress, behavior, and important milestones. Support children with different learning styles, abilities, and developmental needs in an inclusive and respectful classroom environment. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and inviting classroom. Follow all Texas Child Care Regulation Minimum Standards , preschool policies, mandated reporting requirements, and health and safety procedures. Work cooperatively with fellow teachers, administration, families, and other members of our preschool community. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, training, and preschool events as required. Qualifications Previous experience working with preschool-aged children or in an early childhood education setting is preferred. A genuine love for children and passion for helping young children learn and grow is essential. Must be patient, nurturing, dependable, energetic, and able to maintain a positive attitude. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices is preferred. Ability to create a structured yet playful and engaging learning environment. Strong classroom management and positive guidance skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with children, families, coworkers, and administration. Must be willing to follow all licensing, health, safety, supervision, and preschool policies and procedures. CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be obtained as required by the preschool. Must meet all state licensing and background-check requirements.
