Position Overview Here at St John Lutheran Learning Center We are seeking a caring, energetic, and attentive early childhood educator to support the growth and development of children ages 12 to 24 months. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and age-appropriate learning through play and routine-based activities. Responsibilities Provide attentive daily care and supervision for toddlers ages 12 to 24 months. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support language, motor, social, and emotional growth. Maintain a warm, safe, and organized classroom environment. Support children during routines such as meals, diapering, naptime, handwashing, and transitions. Use positive guidance strategies to encourage respectful behavior and emerging independence. Observe children and communicate developmental progress, needs, and daily updates to families. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistent classroom practices and a positive team culture. Follow health, safety, and licensing requirements at all times. Maintain accurate records related to attendance, care routines, and classroom activities. Qualifications Experience working with infants or toddlers in a child care, preschool, or early learning environment. Understanding of child development for children ages 12 to 24 months. Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate activities for young children. Strong communication, patience, and relationship-building skills. Ability to remain attentive, calm, and responsive in a busy classroom setting. Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. Willingness to work collaboratively with families and team members. Preferred Qualifications Early childhood education coursework, credential, or certification. CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire. Prior experience with toddler routines, diapering, and developmental observation.
