Position Summary:

The employee will serve as a Childcare Floater during the morning shift and transition into the role of Afterschool Teacher during the afternoon shift. The employee is expected to remain actively engaged and productive throughout the entire workday. AM Shift — Childcare Floater During the morning portion of the shift, the employee will provide support throughout the center based on daily needs. Cover classrooms for teacher breaks, lunches, meetings, or absences. Assist in infant, toddler, preschool, Pre-K, or other classrooms as assigned. Maintain required supervision and child-to-caregiver ratios when providing classroom coverage. Assist teachers with activities, learning centers, classroom materials, and preparation. Help with breakfast/lunch routines, transitions, handwashing, toileting/diapering when appropriate, and cleanup. Sanitize tables, toys, learning materials, and classroom areas. Restock classroom supplies. Assist with playground/outdoor supervision and safety checks. Help maintain hallways, common areas, and classrooms organized and ready for children. Assist with arrival, dismissal, and other center duties as assigned. When not covering a classroom, check with the Director for the next assignment rather than remaining idle. PM Shift — Afterschool Teacher During the afternoon portion of the shift, the employee becomes primarily responsible for the school-age/afterschool program. Receive and account for children arriving from school. Maintain accurate attendance and active supervision. Serve meals/snacks according to the center's schedule. Assist children with homework and school assignments. Provide structured activities including reading, STEM, arts and crafts, games, outdoor activities, and enrichment. Encourage positive social interaction and independence. Use positive guidance and appropriate behavior-management techniques. Maintain an organized and engaging school-age environment. Supervise restroom, outdoor, meal, and classroom transitions. Prepare children for parent pickup. Release children only to authorized individuals according to center procedures. Clean and organize the afterschool area before the end of the shift. Communicate incidents, behavior concerns, injuries, parent messages, or other important information to administration. Daily Expectation This is an active-support position. During the AM shift, the employee should continuously assist classrooms and center operations. During the PM shift, the employee's primary responsibility becomes the Afterschool Program and its children. Personal phone use should be limited according to center policy, and the employee must maintain active supervision and appropriate teacher-child interaction whenever responsible for children.

Pay:

$9.50 - $10.50 per hour
