Responsibilities Assist in preparing and serving healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with menu plans and dietary guidelines Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools, following all safety standards in production Follow strict food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene during meal preparation and service Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, appliances, and storage areas through regular cleaning routines Support meal portioning, plating, and presentation to ensure an appealing dining experience for preschool children Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies while adhering to recipe instructions and food safety protocols Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies, checking expiration dates, and notifying supervisors of stock needs or issues Skills Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary practices suitable for young children Strong understanding of food safety management, including proper food handling and sanitation standards Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and caregivers Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines Experience in cleaning routines specific to food service environments, ensuring compliance with health regulations Familiarity with catering or restaurant environments is a plus but not required Join us as a Pre-School Kitchen Assistant if you're passionate about fostering healthy eating habits in young children while honing your culinary skills in a supportive environment.
